★ Folkmore Roles & Attributes ★
Skills:
○An excellent light saber duelist well versed in multiple forms of saber combat and skilled with multiple types of light saber (single saber, double ended saber staff, long sword style with cross guards, as well as dual wielding).
○Very mechanically inclined and capable of dismantling almost anything. He's particularly good at repairing and upgrading droids. He's also quite good at lightsaber construction and has turned his into the equivalent of a light saber multitool with all the attachments he's added to it
○Above average pilot. He's capable of some pretty good maneuvers but isn't and would never claim to be the best.
○CLIMBING STUFF. He's like a damn cat, climbs everything and needs it to fit his enrichment quota.
Canon Abilities: He's a JEDI, and basically like, a space wizard-cowboy. This means he can use THE FORCE. Which for the sake of brevity is a sort of power that is in everything and everyone and is the source of it all and 'Force Sensitives' such as Jedi like Cal can use it to do stuff that basically looks like magic. The most common things Jedi can do with this power is use telekinesis and move objects with their mind, sense emotions and incoming danger, implant ideas and manipulate the weak willed into doing things, and improve their physical condition so they can run faster, jump higher, and take more damage then a normal being. These are all things Cal is well versed in.
Cal does have two fairly uncommon Force abilities worth noting aside from the mentioned above, the first is 'Stasis'. it can be used on objects or people and slows them down almost to the point of immobility for a moment or two. A distant visual heat like haze appears around those under the influence of this ability.
His second even rarer ability is Psychometry. Unlike most force abilities this one can't be learned. You're either born with it or you're not. Basically he can touch an object and see memories associated with that objects owner. It's not always a sure fire thing, it depends on how the object was used. It was something that was never used or was used rarely he probably won't see anything, however if it's something that is used frequently or is kept on a person at all times, the likelihood of him seeing a memory is quite high. The same is true for locations, he can sense memories from places that are well traveled or important to people. Stronger emotions in these memories tend to tire him out, and extremely strong or violent emotions can make him pass out or at the very worst experience a seizure.
Role: Legend
Role Qualities/Attributes: He'll gain the wings of the Shyyyo Bird. They're a pale greyish/lavender and transparent/glasslike at the tips. The Shyyyo is a bird native to Cal's universe, in particular on the Planet Kashyyyk. It's a giant carnivorous bird that the locals view as a sort of guardian deity and symbol of protection as it exclusively hunts other dangerous predatory creatures in the planet's jungles.
He can already naturally sense emotions and such so in game he'll be a little more sensitive to it then normal.
Role Reasoning: Cal views himself as a protector and a freedom fighter. He will one hundred percent always put the safety and well being of others above his own. If there's someone in danger he won't hesitate, he'll act. Not always an ideal thing as it lends to him leaping before looking more often then not but things work out for him most times.

OPTION 2 QUESTIONS (PICK 4-5) 100-300 WORD LIMIT EACH:
- What was the most traumatic experience your character endured? How did this change them?
The most traumatic thing Cal ever endured was living through Order 66 when he was roughly twelve to thirteen years old. The Purge. This was the betrayal, and slaughter, of almost every known Jedi in the galaxy. Cal's family, his home. The clone troops under the command were outfitted with brain chips that, once activated made the before loyal soldiers change completely and open fire upon the Jedi they served under. These were men that Cal saw as friends, and even brothers. With no knowledge of the chip he saw it as a complete betrayal. They almost killed him, and his Master died protecting him. He then spent an undetermined about of time in a escape pod with his Master's corpse. It turned him from a bright and rambunctious youth to a more closed off individual. Someone who hides his past at all costs, and closes himself off from almost all other relationships for fear of being betrayed. It is notable that he does eventually move past this but it made a huge impression on him, and he lead a very lonely life for years, constantly avoiding acquaintances and closing himself off for people.
While nowadays he is much more open about his past, and much more willing to connect with people, his distaste for betrayal and traitors remains strong, and he does understandably suffer from minor PTSD when escape pods are concerned.
- What is a headcanon (or two) you feel strongly about and that you prefer playing your character with? How is this supported in canon and why do you think it benefits the character's story?
I headcanon that Cal suffers from a lot of chronic pain, particularly in his joints and as a result has developed a mild dependency on painkillers. The pain part comes from just how often he gets hurt and how much damage he sustains on a regular basis. He regularly falls off buildings and ledges, gets knocked around by giant droids and aggressive local fauns, get caught in the outskirts of explosions, is involved with space ship crashes, and in general just leads a VERY active lifestyle and pushes his body harder then he probably should. As a Jedi he's capable of bolstering himself and increasing his resilience to damage to some degree but you can only shield so much before things start adding up.
Logically he SHOULD probably go to clinic or hospital and get himself checked on professionally, but he would probably claim that since he is a VERY wanted man and seen as a terrorist by the Empire doing so would put him at risk of being captured. In reality it very much has more to with seeing himself as little more then a weapon. He can't stop and get surgeries or physical therapy even though he probably desperately needs it. His time is better spent throwing himself at the fight. He can't stop. It's also because he views other people's needs above his own. If he's there taking up a doctor's precious time that could mean someone who needs it more has to wait or might not get the chance.
Way better to pop a couple pills or inject a stim pack.
- What does your character feel like they struggle with still? Where could they improve? This could be physically, mentally, emotionally, or otherwise.
Cal struggles most with seeing himself as more then a weapon. He was raised in the Jedi Order during a time when ALL initiates were being trained for battle without exception. He was a padawan to a Jedi General and even from a very you age he would have been expected to take part in some battles and campaigns alongside his Master and the troops under his command. This has resulted in a young man who... doesn't know much aside from fighting. He sees injustice in the galaxy. People in pain, people being taken advantage of. Suffering at the hands of a cruel Empire. He wants with all his heart and being to help these people but the only thing he knows how to do is fight. The only thing he can do is fling himself at the Empire helping with raids and guerilla strikes. A part of him knows this isn't everything he could be doing but he desperately does not know WHAT he should do. His loved ones have to remind him constantly that he is MORE then that whether he knows it or not. He's more then a Lightsaber, he's more then a weapon. He wants to believe them but there's always a small part of him that just doesn't, that can't see himself as more then that.
- What is your character's safespace? When do they feel the most settled and comfortable? When do they feel confident and relaxed?
But in meditation he can breathe, let go of everything, for a brief spell just be one with the Force and everything and nothing all at once. It helps center and focus him in a chaotic galaxy.
His safe space is also his friends, his loved ones, the ones that make him feel like a real person, they help him smile easy and laugh and joke. He's always the sort to have an easy grin and a joke on board but among those he cares for he truly shines. They are his rock, his backbone, the ones he's REALLY fighting for. There is no place in the galaxy more precious to him then him and the people he loves gathered together to share a meal, or play a game or watch a holovid. Their love for him gives him confidence, makes him feel better.
